Sadly, due to the inclement weather conditions, tonight’s outdoor session has been cancelled.
The forecast doesn’t show it clearing until quite late this evening, with the possibility of thunder and lightning also.
Hopefully we can start next week!
Don’t forget, Paul Vella is still running mat based sessions on Saturday mornings 10.00 – 11.30 at Holbrook Judo Club.
Below are details of our summer programme 2019:
Tuesday 16 July – Judo as normal
Thursday 18 July – no Judo (school using hall)
Tuesday 23 July – Judo as normal (final session of term)
Tuesday, 6.30pm to 7.30pm – outdoor training sessions at our normal location at Hilsea Creek, please bring water bottle and wear normal gym type clothing. These sessions are weather dependent – any cancellations will be notified via Facebook and Twitter.
Judo classes will restart on Thursday 5 September.
There is still a chance to get on the mat over the summer, see the message below from Paul Vella at Holbrook Judo Club:
Holbrook will be running sessions saturdays from 20 july for 5 weeks 10 – 11.30 and mat fee is £5 we have 2 players doing commonwealth championships in september and want to keep them in tip top form ! Also we will be doing some evening “land training” at either lee on solent or stokes bay completely free of charge on an ad hoc basis i will post these a few days prior to the training
Sadly we have not been able to secure access to the school over the summer holidays.
Please therefore make every effort to attend the remaining sessions this term:

Please note that, due to annual school summer show, there will be no Judo on Thursday 18th July.
Final dates for end of term therefore are :

We are awaiting a response from the school as to whether there is a possibility of running any sessions over the summer – watch this space.

Training opportunities continue with Holbrook judo club on the next two Saturdays.
We will reopen on Thursday 6th September, with our normal two sessions – 6-7pm, 7-8pm.
Along with the Saturday dates previously announced, we are delighted to announce that we have two additional Tuesday dates at Court Lane.
The Club will be running training sessions from 6.00 to 7.30pm on the following dates:
Normal mat fees will apply.
We are still waiting to hear from the school if we can put any dates on over the summer, as we did last year.
In the meantime, Paul Vella at Holbrook has secured three Saturday dates which Court Lane players invited to attend:
All dates will run at Brune Park school, from 1000 to 1130.
Please advise Paul if you are planning to attend any of these – and let him know if you then cannot!
Paul has to lay mats and pay hall hire costs, the same as we do, so knowing numbers is important.

Apologies for the cancellation of last Tuesday’s outdoor session, the weather forecast on the Monday was a lot worse than it turned out to be on the day.
Based on the latest weather forecast, we have taken the decision to cancel the fitness training session on Tuesday 8 August.
We return to the judo mat next week, Tuesday 15 August.
For the first time in several years, we are able to run Judo classes over the school break.

PLEASE support these sessions if you are free, neither us or Paul at Holbrook have been able to run summer sessions for some time, whether we can do so in future depends on your support.
