Summer Saturday morning Judo has been approved by the school. Sessions will commence from Saturday 27 July and run through to the end of the summer holidays.
Sessions will be in the MAIN hall, as currently, as hoped for maintenance work has not been confirmed.
Classes will run from 1000 – 1130, and are open to all (junior and adult). Regular mat fee will apply. Prepayment for sessions you are planning to attend is preferred and can be made at the club on Tuesday or via transfer to the Club’s bank account – details will be available Tuesday. Unbooked players will be able to pay on the day.
We have the possibility to run Saturday morning sessions over the school summer holidays. Sessions will be run in the SMALL hall, with a reduced mat area (as we have to move the mats from one hall to the other!!)
Sessions will be open to both adults and juniors, but will only run if we reach a minimum number of players. To secure your place and guarantee the sessions run, please register your interest. Payment will be required in advance.
Hard to believe, but we are coming to the end of another term and summer break is fast approaching.
The final dates for Judo this term are as follows:
Tuesday 9th – Judo as normal
Thursday 11th – Judo as normal
Tuesday 16th – Judo as normal
Thursday 18th – NO JUDO (school show)
Tuesday 23rd – Judo as normal.
Evening sessions will then finish, recommencing in September when school reopens.
We are hopeful of running Saturday sessions in the SMALL Hall – negotiations currently underway with school and these will be very much dependent upon support. We need a minimum number of people to attend, and will ask people to prebook and pay in advance. More details to follow.
It’s the last of our Saturday judo sessions this weekend.
The session will be held in the hall of Court Lane INFANT school – access is via the double gates in Court Lane.
The session will run from 1000 to 1115, normal £5 mat fee applies.
We plan to move the mats back to their normal home in the hall at the Junior school after – assuming the Junior hall is accessible with the heating work that is taking place. Help with moving mats would be appreciated – especially if anyone can access a van?
Normal sessions will resume from Tuesday 6 September.
Quite a few people who promised to attend or asked us about summer sessions who we haven’t seen yet – hopefully see you on the mat this Saturday!
With the current heat warning in place, allied to low attendance last Saturday, we have decided to cancel this Saturday’s session.
We hope to return for our final Saturday session on Saturday 20 August. Help will be needed after this session to move the mats from the Infant school to the Junior school – if anyone has a van they can make available it would be greatly appreciated.
Evening sessions will resume from Tuesday 6 September.
Hopefully you have all enjoyed and been inspired by the extensive coverage of Judo at this year’s Commonwealth Games – if you haven’t seen it all, it is available on the BBC IPlayer.
The third of our Saturday Judo sessions is running this Saturday. Once again, a gentle reminder that we are in the INFANT school hall. The session starts at 1000, and runs through to 1115. Well done to those who have already attended – your support is appreciated. Adult and junior players are welcome.
Don’t forget, it’s the second of our Saturday judo sessions tomorrow.
Session will run from 1000 – 1115 in the INFANT school hall – access via the gates in Court Lane. Cars can be parked either in Court Lane or in the Junior school car park in Hilary Avenue, as normal.
A quick reminder that the first of our five Saturday sessions is tomorrow! The session will run from 10:00 to 11:15 and is open to all players, junior and adult.
The sessions will be held in the hall of the INFANT school. Access is via the double gates in Court Lane, the hall is on the left of the playground.
Parking will be available in the Junior school as normal (the Infant school car park may be open), or spaces are usually available in Court Lane itself.
Usual mat fee applies.
Kev and Tony will be onsite at the Junior school at 8:30 to move the mats, if anyone is free to help us they will be most welcome!
