Previous Red Belt Rumble Medallists
There is still time for our red belt ninjas to enter the Northern Home Counties Red Belt Rumble, to be held at High Wycombe Judo Centre on 18 March.
Closing date for this event is 11 March.

The following competitions all offer opportunities for Court Lane judoka to gain more valuable judo experience and test themselves against players from other clubs:
12 June – Red & Yellow Belt Rumble, Worthing
25-26 June – Kent International, Gillingham
10 July – Surrey Senior Open Blue Belt & Under, Redhill
17 July – Northern Home Counties Split Grade Open, High Wycombe
31 July – Hampshire Open Split Grade – entry form to be issued
Previous Red Belt Rumble Medallists
All those players who have had their appetite for competition whetted through the Hampshire Team Championships, should consider entering the next Rumble to be held in Worthing, in mid June.

We have received details of the next Red Belt Rumble to be held at High Wycombe Judo Centre – it’s only 90 minutes up the road and offers a good introduction to competition.

Players about to begin a newaza practice
It is already shaping up to be a busy year – Hampshire has already released their dates for 2015, with entry open now…
Holbrook Judo Club will be hosting our friends from Royan, France May 14 – 18, hopefully some of our players will involve themselves.
Holbrook are also planning on hosting a Red Belt Rumble for Portsmouth area clubs in April, we will plan our next grading around this date.
We will be identifying further competitions as the year goes on.
Very sorry to discover late last night via Southern Area Facebook page that the Sussex Red Belt Rumble planned for 15 June has been cancelled. (It is still listed on the official SA webpage, but as Facebook notice was posted by official representative I think this is an administrative delay…).
This is the first time that I can ever recall a Red Belt competition being cancelled. Entries must be low, which is surprising as this is usually a well supported event, despite always falling on Father’s Day.
I do just wonder if this is the first casualty of the Football World Cup?
Another possibility I suppose is that without Don Werner, we are no longer going to see huge entries from Pinewood?
